The pit breaker is a device used to open various types of pit lids or manhole covers. Our pit seal breaker or manhole lift is designed to open different types of covers commonly found in utility pits, underground chambers, or access points.
The number of manhole lifters that are required to open a pit depends on several factors, including the size and weight of the pit lid, the accessibility of the pit.
In general, single Westscan's Pit Seal Breaker can be sufficient for opening most standard-sized manhole covers or pit lids.
On larger pit lids with 2 gatic holes on the one side its recommended to use 2 pit litfers to avoid lid twist and side pinching. On small pit lids i.e. small single holed Telstra communication pits one is fine.
