Water Leaks Detection
In Perth, WA
Westscan’s residential water leak detection service vehicles are equipped with the same leak detection equipment used for commercial works. Utilising GPR scanning and locating with acoustic and tracer gas leak detectors.
A private property owner in Roleystone, Perth Western Australia had a large jump in their water bill. The property owner conducted their own search and identified water seepage from behind the granny flat. Potholing was attempted but without any success.
Westscan methodology of water leak detection is to understand water pipe network or system. Identify the different piping route or routes and understand the types of material and water volume. Once locating of the piping is achieved water leak detection is used. On this occasion Acoustic leak detection found the crack in the water pipe up hill 20 metres on the opposite side of the granny flat.
There were no water pipes where the homeowners were potholing. The leaking water had flooded the soil and over time the water seepage flowed through the soil down hill and under the granny flat before coming to the surface on the other side.
